And We made the matter manifest and conveyed it to the presence of all who acknowledged the sovereignty of God and His power—except those in whose breasts was the rancor of the youth and who were among the idolaters. Yet, despite this manifestation that encompassed all contingent beings, and this radiance the like of which they had never heard in the horizons, the leaders of the Bayán objected to Me. Among them were those who turned away from the path and denied Him in whom they had believed, and transgressed against God, the Powerful, the All-Sovereign, the Most High, the Great. And among them were those who hesitated at the path and attached God’s Cause, in their foolishness, to the affirmation of one whom I created by My word; thereby their deeds were rendered vain, and they were not of the poets.
