the dust with such humiliation, while they sit upon the throne of glory; and God will judge between us and them, and He is the best of judges. We thank God for everything that has come upon us, and we are patient with what He has decreed and will decree. In Him I have placed my trust, and to Him I have entrusted my affair; and indeed He gives full reward to the patient and the trusting. To Him belong the command and the creation; He honors whom He wills and humiliates whom He wills, and He is not questioned about what He wills; and indeed He is the Mighty, the All-Powerful. Listen, O Sultan, to what we have laid before your presence; then restrain the oppressors from their oppression, then cut off their hands from the heads of the Muslims. By God, there has come upon us what the pen cannot set down.
