For blessings there have been and will be countless degrees, in the Book of thy Lord and the Lord of the worlds. The first blessing that was bestowed upon the human form has been and is reason, and its purpose is the knowledge of the Truth, exalted be His glory. He is the Perceiver, and He is the Guide, and He is the Expounder. And in the second rank is sight, for the awareness of reason has been and will be from the testimony of sight; and likewise hearing and the heart and the other blessings that are manifest and observable in the human form.
