They read and guided them from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge. Therefore the eye of the wise should be attentive to the secret within them, for the desire of all has been one: the guiding of those who are lost and the comfort of the helpless... A disease has afflicted the people; strive to deliver them with that remedy which is fashioned by the mighty hand of the divine Physician. Again, regarding the nature of religions, it has been written: the sages of the world have regarded the world as the body of humankind; just as a person needs clothing, so too must the body of the world be clothed, and it may be renewed. Thus the religion of God is its garment; whenever it becomes worn, He adorns it with a new garment. To each age its own way.
