Blessed is this day on which the fragrances of the All-Merciful have spread throughout existence. Blessed is this blessed day which the centuries and ages cannot equal. Blessed is this day when the Ancient of Days turned His countenance toward His station; then all things, and behind them the Concourse on high, cried out: O Carmel, come down at the approach of the Face of God, the Possessor of the Kingdom of Names and the Creator of heaven. Then she was seized by a tremor of joy and called out at the top of her voice: My soul be a sacrifice for Thy coming, and for Thy favor a sacrifice, and for Thy turning a sacrifice. Thou hast destroyed me, O Dawning-Place of life, by Thy separation, and burned me by Thy abandonment. Praise be to Thee for having caused me to hear Thy call, and honored me with Thy advent, and given me life through the fragrances of Thy days and the scratch of Thy Pen which Thou hast made images among Thy servants.
