In the name of Him who is the Ruler (al-hakim) over what was and what will be. The first thing which God ordained (kataba) concerning His creatures (al-`ibad) is the knowledge of the Sunrise-place (mashriq) of His revelation and the Rising-place (matla') of His Cause (amrihi), who was the Station (maqam) of Himself in the world of command and creation. Whoever attains unto Him (faza bihi) attains unto all good, and whoever is deprived of Him is of the people of error (al-dalal), even though he performs all (good) works (al-a'mal). When you achieve this most brilliant station and {highest horizon/highest distant regions}, it behooves every soul to obey that which was commanded before the Desired, because these two things are conjoined. One of the two is not accepted without the other. This is that which was commanded by him, the rising place of inspiration.
